The management of public company Autoceste FBiH (FBiH Highways) denies allegations of some media outlets that European Investment Bank (EIB) annulled tender for construction of one section of the highway at Corridor 5C due to alleged tampering with the tender documentation, and that acting executive director Jasmin Buco is responsible for suspicious selection of contractors.
Some media reported on Thursday that EIB annulled the tender for the construction of the road section Pocitelj – Zvirovici, Počitelj – bridge Pocitelj, published in 2014.
- In the recent meeting with representatives of EIB and official representatives of FBiH, minister of traffic and communications, Denis Lasic and acting director of Autoceste, Adnan Terzic, there was no mention of any possible tampering with the tender or 'suspicious selection of contractors'.
Likewise, there was no mention of Jasmin Buco, acting executive director in any context, including that as responsible for suspicious selection of contractors, it was said in Autoceste reaction.
In their statement, Autoceste remind the public of EIB's position that, if construction needs to be accelerated, it would be best to annul this tender and open a new tender according to new and accelerated procedure that will be prescribed by EIB, which will be proposed in an official letter from EIB.
- In order to avoid speculations, Autoceste FBiH will inform the public upon the receipt of EIB's letter, as well as about all further steps relating to the tender, Autoceste press release says.
