President of the Croat party BiH Bozo Skopljakovic issued a press release in which he pointed out the need to resolve the core constitutional and political problem in BiH of having 'two states under one roof'.
- That incredible anomaly of the constitution which metastazed into malignant cancer, has given birth to other acute problems such as the Electoral law, registration of immovable property, the NATO membership and unexplained failure to fill out the EU questionnaire, it was said in the press release.
Skopljakovic also underlined the fact that the Dayton Peace Agreement and Constitution BiH allowed 'two states under one roof' to exist in practice, which is a straitjacket that people and citizens of BiH have been wearing for 22 years. He explained how the constitution legalized BiH citizenship, but also the citizenship of both entities.
- Every citizen of an entity is automatically a citizen of BiH. Such schizophrenic solution cannot be found in any state which participated in creation of the Dayton agreement and the constitution, Skopljakovic asserted.
- I invite all local and international leaders who have the power and responsibility to change the Dayton agreement, to decidedly and sensibly commit to solving the crucial problem of 'two states under one roof' and that we all together create a modern European state, said the president of the Croat party BiH Bozo Skopljakovic in his press release.
