Zrinjski defeats clueless Sarajevo in Mostar

(Patria) - For the third time this season, Sarajevo's footballers are returning empty-handed from an away game.

The 'Bordo' team was defeated tonight in Mostar by Zrinjski with a score of 2-0 in a postponed match of the first round of the Premier League of BiH, writes Faktor.

Igor Štimac's team brutally punished Sarajevo's mistakes. The Romanian defender Grigore Turda had a nightmarish evening under Bijeli Brijeg.

It was precisely the Romanian who gifted the Mostar team a goal in the 10th minute. Without any pressure, he passed the ball to Ćuže, who played a one-two with Bilbija, found himself one-on-one with Mušija, and routinely sent the ball into the net for 1-0.

Ćuže returned to Zrinjski from South Korea in the final days of the transfer window.

The goal unsettled Sarajevo, as Zrinjski retreated to their own half after taking the lead and waited for another mistake.

The visitors threatened for the first time in the 36th minute through Ljajić, who shot from twenty meters, but Karačić saved.

Zrinjski's goalkeeper was also alert in the 43rd minute when Sarajevo could have equalized on a counter-attack. Ristovski ran with the ball after it was won, passed to Ljajić who stumbled slightly but still found a solution and set up Kyeremeh, whose shot was saved by Karačić with his feet.

Sarajevo was clueless in the first half, and especially in the second.

In the 49th minute, Bilbija missed a great opportunity, and the Zrinjski captain had another chance two minutes later when his shot went wide of the post.

Sarajevo's net rippled again in the 54th minute. Turda played a poor header in Zrinjski's half, the ball reached Ćuže, who played Avramović into space, and he unselfishly set up Šakota, who routinely lobbed the advancing Mušija from the edge of the penalty area.

During Zrinjski's goal, Kapetanović hit the post, got injured, and had to leave the game.

After conceding the second goal, Sarajevo failed to create any serious chances, and statistics show that the visitors had only one shot in the second half, in the very last attack.

In the next round, Zrinjski will visit Mokri Dolac to face Posušje, while Sarajevo faces a tough away game at Pecara.
