(Patria) - Zrinjski's footballers drew with Crystal Palace 1:1 tonight in Mostar, in the first leg of the play-off for the Conference League Round of 16.
The English team started the match better and created problems for the home defense in the opening minutes, with Sarr being particularly prominent, who even managed to hit the net, but his goal from the 12th minute was disallowed for offside.
As time went on, Zrinjski established balance and had a great chance in the 39th minute, but Ivančić's shot from a promising position went over the goal.
The penalty came five minutes later when the guests took the lead through Sarra.
At the start of the second half, in the 55th minute, Zrinjski equalized. Mikić passed to Abramović, who went one-on-one with Henderson and beat the visiting goalkeeper.
In the 63rd minute, Abramović was in a chance again, and three minutes later, Ćuže found himself in a promising position, but there was no change in the score.
Wharton shot from about 20 meters in the 72nd minute and hit the crossbar of the home team's goal.
In the remainder of the match, we saw several more interesting situations, and one from the 80th minute was particularly noteworthy.
A controversial situation where Munoz handled the ball in the penalty area was reviewed for a long time in the VAR room. The main referee of the match also watched the situation, but decided to award a foul in attack.
There were no further changes to the score, and the match ended 1:1.
The return leg in London will be played in seven days, and there is no doubt that Zrinjski will also have its chances.
