Zrinjski secured European spring with a last-minute goal

(Patria) - Zrinjski football players played their last match of the league part of the Conference League tonight in Mostar against Rapid Vienna.

Considering the development of the situation in other matches, Zrinjski only needed a draw to advance to the playoffs, and the match ended with exactly that result - a 1:1 draw.

Rapid arrived in Mostar from last place in the standings after five rounds played and without a single point.

The "Plemići" had a great chance in the 2nd minute. Ivančić crossed from the left, Bilbija was just a few meters from the goal and shot, but Hedl saved brilliantly.

Just two minutes later, the visitors tried through Gulliksen, who shot from mid-distance, but Karačić saved.

The visitors took the lead in the 11th minute. Schaub scored an excellent header from a cross from the right.

Ivančić tried in the 21st minute, but the ball ended up in the hands of the visiting goalkeeper Hedl.

After that, in the 30th minute, Pranjić threatened from distance, but Hedl was once again safe.

In the last seconds of the first half, another great chance for Zrinjski, but Dujmović and Bilbija couldn't agree on who would shoot, so the chance was missed.

An excellent opportunity for Mikić in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the visitors' goal.

It's unbelievable what Bilbija missed in the 58th minute. Pranjić left him the ball on a plate, Bilbija was alone a few meters from Rapid's goal, but he didn't seize the opportunity.

The visitors threatened in the 73rd minute through M'Buyi, but the ball ended up on the outside of the net.

Savić also tried in the 82nd minute, but it was a very "clumsy" attempt by the Zrinjski player.

The referee's added time, specifically the 93rd minute, was fatal for Rapid and brought much joy to Mostar as the home team equalized after an own goal by Cvetković. The match ended 1:1.

Zrinjski thus advanced to the next stage of the Conference League competition and secured a European spring.
