Zrinjski no match in Guimarães, Portuguese win 3-0

(Patria) - Zrinjski was defeated tonight away to Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães with a score of 3-0 in the first leg of the Conference League playoffs.

With such a high victory, the Portuguese have almost certainly decided the winner of the tie against the team from Mostar, writes Faktor.ba.

After the first half, the score was 0-0, and the hosts threatened dangerously several times. Worth noting are the attempts by Tiago Silva, Boreković, and then Cesar, but Zrinjski held the 'clean sheet'.

In the 38th minute, Santos shot from distance, Marić saved. Two minutes before the end of the first half, Mangas failed to shoot, or rather, he was late for the cross, and it remained 0-0.

Towards the end of the first half, Oliveira had a chance, but he also didn't score.

As soon as the second half started, the hosts scored. Silva crossed from the right, Mangas was alone at the far post, and it was 1-0.

The Portuguese have a comfortable lead ahead of the return leg next Thursday in Mostar.

Zrinjski will certainly not give up easily, but it will be difficult to make up the deficit and repeat last season's success.
