OG: Andersson confirms Swedish dominance in cross-country skiing

(Patria) - Swedish Ebba Andersson won the Winter Olympic Games in the 50-kilometer classic style cross-country skiing race, held in Tesero.

Andersson, for whom this was her fourth medal at the Games in Milan and Cortina, finished the race in two hours, 16 minutes, and 28 seconds, thus achieving her first Olympic gold medal.

Norway's Heidi Weng was second, two minutes and 15 seconds slower, with Switzerland's Nadja Kaelin taking third place.

Andersson, who also won three silvers at these Games, became the first Olympic champion in history in the 50 km discipline, which replaced the previous 30 km race.

For Sweden, this was the fifth Olympic title in six women's cross-country skiing races in Tesero.
