The Dragons draw Kosovo and Belgium as rivals in the World Cup pre-qualifiers

(Patria) - The senior women's handball team of BiH has learned its rivals in the pre-qualifying tournament for the 2025 World Cup.

The European Handball Federation (EHF) introduced a new rule this year, so instead of two-legged matches in the pre-qualifiers, mini-tournaments will be played.

BiH is placed in Group 2, which also includes Kosovo and Belgium.

In Group 1 are Greece, Lithuania, and Great Britain, in Group 3 Finland, Israel, and Estonia, while in Group 4 are Italy, Luxembourg, and Bulgaria.

Only the group winners will advance to the second stage of the competition, and the mini-tournaments are scheduled from October 25 to 27 this year.

According to the draw for hosting, Belgium will be the organizer of the tournament for Group 2. If they withdraw, then it will be Kosovo, and if Kosovo also withdraws, then the tournament will be played in our country.

In the second stage, specifically in the playoffs, the teams of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Montenegro, Spain, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Serbia, Austria, Switzerland, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Iceland, Slovakia, Portugal, Turkey, and the Faroe Islands are already included.

The draw for the playoffs will be held on December 14 this year, and the matches will be played on April 9/10 and April 12/13.

The 2025 World Cup will be played from November 27 to December 14. The defending champions are France.
