The Dragons in Zenica Seek Victory Against Northern Ireland

(Patria) - The BiH women's "A" national team, as part of the final round of the UEFA Nations League, plays against the Northern Ireland national team in Zenica today.

On this occasion, a press conference was held yesterday where coach Selver Hodžić and national team players Milena Nikolić and Melisa Hasanbegović spoke.

Coach Hodžić began by reflecting on the duel against Romania.

- We did not expect that loss either. We had some good situations but conceded goals right in the 45+2 minute and in the second half when we had possession of the ball and were making some moves. However, we also saw many good things that we will carry over to the next match - emphasizes Hodžić.

When asked what we can do against Northern Ireland to secure second place, the coach was specific:

"We have to beat them. We know Northern Ireland well, and I think in front of our audience, with good preparation, concentration, and energy, we can achieve victory.

In this match, we will not be able to count on Ena Taslidža, who got injured, so we have called up Ana Jurić instead, who can help us. We have a good goal difference, we need a win".

Captain Milena Nikolić says they created many chances and half-chances in Romania but lacked finishing.

- I hope we will make up for that tomorrow and show the finishing that characterized us in the previous four matches. Northern Ireland is a team characterized by persistence until the very end of the match.

Our strengths are unity, but also the desire to match their persistence and secure three points to ensure second place in the group - Nikolić said yesterday.

Nikolić added at the end that the evening match time will suit them much better than the daytime one and invited the public to support them.

Melisa Hasanbegović says that Northern Ireland is a tricky team - there are always many goals scored.

- I think we have played very well so far, we opened the match and had chances, but we conceded goals at the end of the first or second half.

I hope we will correct that because it's time we repaid them a little for the previous matches, and I honestly expect three points - added Hasanbegović.

The match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Northern Ireland is scheduled for today at the NS/FS BiH Training Center in Zenica, starting at 7:00 PM. Admission for the public is free.
