Zmajice draw goalless with Lithuania in Zenica

(Patria) - The senior women's national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina failed to defeat Lithuania today in Zenica in the fifth round of qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup.

The match ended as it began - 0:0.

Our team dominated in the first half, however, despite several excellent chances, the Bosnian representatives ultimately failed to score a goal.

- First of all, congratulations and praise for my players, especially for the first half when they had 17 shots on goal. The desire and will were visible, they respected the game plan, and we guarded their attackers well.

Unfortunately, we failed to score a goal, and as usually happens, energy dropped a bit, the end of the season and fatigue are felt. They maybe had two half-chances, but they didn't seriously threaten us.

It's a shame we didn't score that sitter in the end. But that's football, now a decisive match awaits us in Estonia, we go to rest and prepare for that game - said Zmajice coach Selver Hodžić after this match.

Despite the draw, our team retained first place in the table in League C, Group C1.

The next match is scheduled for June 9, when the Bosnian representatives will visit Estonia.
