Dragons suffer heavy defeat against Montenegro in Goražde and miss out on European Championship

(Patria) - The Dragons were defeated tonight in the packed Goražde hall "Mirsad Hurić" by the selection of Montenegro in the last qualifying match for the 2026 European Championship.

Although the Dragons started well in the first set and at one point had a six-point lead, Montenegro eventually won the first part of the game 26:24.

The guests from Montenegro easily won the second set 25:16.

The third set was much more interesting, played point for point, but Montenegro also emerged as the winner with 26:24.

With tonight's defeat, the women's volleyball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina has lost all chances of qualifying for the European Championship.

The final standings in Group D will be known after the match between Montenegro and Latvia, which is played on August 10, but the result from Montenegro will not play any role for our team.
