Dragons without Anel Ahmedhodžić ahead of the match with the Netherlands

(Patria) - Coach and captain of the A national team, Sergej Barbarez and Edin Džeko, announced tomorrow's UEFA Nations League match between Bosnia and Herzegovina in Eindhoven against the Netherlands. Tonight they will hold the last training session before tomorrow's game. On September 10th, they play against the Hungarians.

Captain Džeko said that, as always, he will give his maximum.

"If it's like in training these days, it will be excellent," said Džeko.

They talked about the goal for the Nations League:

"The goal is to be as good as possible in every game and to give our maximum. The team will give their maximum, I am convinced of that, and then we will see," were the captain's words.

Coach Barbarez revealed that the Dragons are left without another player after Sead Kolašinac, and that he cannot compare the match against Denmark when he was a player and potentially "scalping" the Netherlands.

"Indeed, it is nice to remember those moments, it is special in BiH's football history. I don't like comparing things from the past, I can't say which time was better. I enjoyed it then, and I enjoy it now, but we will try everything. We will try and I hope we will be ready. Unfortunately, we have to skip two players, Sejo has an injury, we tried everything, and so did he, but he couldn't. Yesterday we were also left without Anel, he didn't feel well, he returned home this morning. It was his wish, we tried to do everything. We thought the injury wasn't too serious, but Ahmedhodžić wished to go home," Barbarez began and continued:

"I want to respond to things within my mandate. I haven't analyzed what happened before. The situation is strange, but we believe in our player. He asked to go home and be treated there, everyone here is here by their own will and it will always be like that," added the coach.

The head coach of the Dragons also emphasizes that he has a plan with his team regarding tactics.

"The coach always has something in mind. We always have a plan, something changes. The idea is to have six, sometimes even seven, stoppers. We often play with three, sometimes with two. I want everyone who is called up to have an equal chance to be part of the story," said Barbarez.

"You know more or less every player. They will surely try to surprise us with some idea. Koeman has been here for a long time, we have been following them for a long time, we followed the European Championship. We surely have a plan on how to counter them. We think 24 hours a day about how we will, what we will do, and who will play. Everyone will play as much as they can, if they give 100% of themselves. It is not shameful to come off early if you have given your best. They will have to give their best, who will last is a long story."

What do you fear the most?

"What not. Every word about their national team is superfluous. Every one of their players can decide the game – from the first plan, the second, whoever comes off the bench. We have the privilege of playing in Group A of the Nations League, of competing with the big ones, and it's a big thing for our players to have these matches. This leads us to a better tomorrow and we will have a ready team next year," Barbarez concluded.
