Dragons falter in the second half, Turkey convincingly wins in Istanbul

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team was defeated tonight in Istanbul by Turkey at the start of the World Cup qualifiers with a score of 93:71.

After the first quarter, the Turks had a tangible lead of 29:20, but the Dragons then played an excellent second period. The halftime score was a narrow 46:45 lead for Turkey.

What followed was a significantly better performance by the home team, which finished the third quarter with a nine-point lead (67:58).

Turkey then increased its lead in the final period and concluded the match with a final score of 93:71.

The winning side was led to victory by Tarik Biberović with 20 points scored.

In the ranks of our national team, Amar Alibegović stood out with 18 points, Emir Sulejmanović scored 12, while Ajdin Penava and Xavier Castaneda each added 11 points.

The BiH national team plays its next match in three days, when it will host Serbia at the "Mirza Delibašić" hall in Sarajevo.
