Dragons at training ahead of duel with Canada: This is something truly special

(Patria) - The football representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina held an official training session today, June 11, ahead of their first match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup against the Canadian national team.

Today's training was attended by President Vico Zeljković along with the senior leadership of the N/FS BiH, thus providing support to the players and coaching staff ahead of tomorrow's match.

Nidal Čelik and Haris Tabaković did not train with the team.

Ahead of the training, Ermedin Demirović, Benjamin Tahirović, and Amar Memić answered questions from media representatives.

Demirović commented on the success the team achieved by qualifying for the World Cup.

"This is something truly special, and we can't wait for the matches and the start of the World Cup. We are grateful to the fans for all the support they give us. There are not many national teams that can boast such support. We didn't come here just to see what the stadiums look like. We came to achieve a result, and I hope we will succeed in that."

Tahirović emphasized that the team is ready and also thanked the fans who have supported the national team from the very beginning of preparations.

Memić pointed out that the opening of the World Cup is extremely important, stressing that the team has thoroughly analyzed the opponent. He added that no additional motivation is needed to perform at the biggest global football event, and expressed confidence that the national team can show quality greater than its current FIFA ranking.

The match Canada - Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled for Friday, June 12, at Toronto Stadium at 3:00 PM local time (9:00 PM Central European Time).
