Golden September: Children with cancer took to the field with FK Sarajevo players

(Patria) - The "Heart for Children with Cancer" Association is holding a month of awareness activities about childhood cancer - Golden September, and on this occasion, children with cancer walked onto the field with the players of FK Sarajevo - FK Rudar Prijedor at tonight's match, and were also honorary guests with their families in the stands of the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium.

The official opening of Golden September – the month of raising awareness about childhood cancer, will be held on Monday, 01/09/2025, at 9:00 PM in front of the Parents' Houses in Sarajevo and Tuzla.

"This year's observance carries a powerful slogan: Golden Heart, Golden September – because behind every golden ribbon is a child fighting, a family that doesn't give up, and a community that provides support. The observance is planned with a series of activities throughout the entire month of September, and we are starting it symbolically – by illuminating the Parents' Houses and forming light golden ribbons in their yards. This emotional and powerful visual symbol of hope, struggle, and solidarity calls us to unite in supporting children with cancer.

The event will be attended by children with cancer and those who have been treated, their parents, and representatives of the Association – all those who wish to send a message with their presence: no child should be forgotten," the Association announced.
