Zinedin Vrabac champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1000-meter race for juniors

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina Athletics Championship for junior boys and girls was held in Tuzla on Sunday, with the competition taking place at the Tušanj stadium in 16 disciplines.

Regarding the 1000-meter race for juniors, first place was won by Zinedin Vrabac, who is also the surprise of this year's championship as this is his first participation, and he only started running a few months ago.

Vrabac (13) competed for the Athletics Club Atleta Novi Grad Sarajevo and crossed the finish line in 3:05.92.

In second place was Zoran Blagojević from AK Akademac, who finished the race in 3:06.50, while third was David Mirković from AK Prnjavor, who completed the race in 3:09.27.

Incidentally, Vrabac arrived for the race from Germany and prepared for this performance at the Safet Zajko center under the watchful eye of coach Elmir Ćerimagić, as well as former marathon runner and coach Sead Kondo.

Kondo still holds the BiH record for the marathon run of 2:15.54 back in 1975 in Germany.

Athletes from Leotar won ten medals at yesterday's championship, including six gold, two silver, and two bronze.

In the 800-meter race for junior girls, first place was won by Semina Mujanović from ARK Banovići. She ran the 800 meters in 2:36:90.
