Željo beats Rudar in Prijedor with stoppage-time goal

(Patria) - Sarajevo's Željezničar footballers defeated Rudar today by a minimal score away in Prijedor in the 30th round of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The winning goal for the Blues came practically in the final moments of the match.

The team from Grbavica thus finally secured their first win of the season against Rudar, after recording two draws and a loss in previous head-to-head encounters.

The match itself did not offer much excitement. Chances were rare on both sides, and the play was mostly modest and lacking rhythm.

The first serious situation came in the 29th minute when Mohedanov threatened from a free kick, but Muftić was secure.

Just a minute later, another chance followed for the home side, but the Željezničar goalkeeper was again up to the task.

There were no significant events until the end of the first half, so the teams went to the break without goals.

The second half did not bring better play either. Rudar had slightly more possession and initiative, but without a concrete finish.

The fact that only two shots on target were seen by the 70th minute best illustrates the events on the pitch.

The home side had their biggest chance in the 73rd minute when Romero shot from close range, but Muftić saved the net with a fantastic intervention.

Three minutes later, Željezničar also threatened. Peixoto went one-on-one with the Rudar goalkeeper, but Dubljanić saved his attempt, while Prokop shot over the goal in the continuation of the action.

In stoppage time, the visitors increased the pressure. Krpić had a big chance, but Dubljanić again shone, while Vini was inaccurate in the continuation of the action.

However, when it seemed the match would end without a winner, Željezničar launched a quick counterattack, and Vinicius scored in the 94th minute for the final 1:0.
