Željezničar Secures Survival, Tuzla City on the Brink of Relegation

(Patria) - The 30th round match of the Wwin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina between Željezničar and Tuzla City was played at Grbavica. It ended 2-0 for the Blues, who achieved their third consecutive victory and secured survival in the elite class of Bosnian football. On the other hand, the team from the city of salt, with this defeat, finds itself on the verge of relegation.

The Blues approached this match with a lot of optimism, having won the maximum six points in the previous two games. The chosen ones of Dino Đurbuzović started offensively.

Boljević had the first chance, but Abdulahović saved. In the 6th minute, Al Jaber, after an assist from Krpić, was in a promising position – his shot was saved by the visiting goalkeeper.

In the 38th minute, Boljević shot well, and Abdulahović made an excellent save. Without a doubt, had it not been for the inspired visiting goalkeeper, the score would certainly have been different. Until the end of the first half, the home team held a minimal lead.

As the first half began, so did the second. Chances piled up in front of the visitors' goal. In the 52nd minute, Mekić shot, the ball went wide. Just a minute later, another clear chance for Željezničar. Krpić was in a great position but was blocked at the last moment. In those moments, a goal seemed imminent. However, the Blues' players lacked concentration in the final third.

Then the visitors woke up. First, Hadžić found himself in a good chance. Nevertheless, he was not precise. In the 61st minute, Mehanović failed to beat Muftić. In the following minutes, the team from Grbavica aimed to score a second goal. In one attack, Al Jaber provided an excellent assist for Mekić, who shot, and Abdulahović recorded another save. In the 67th minute, City's defense finally cracked. Galić sent a ball to Krpić, who passed it to Štilić. When everyone expected a shot, the Blues' midfielder brilliantly returned the ball to Krpić, "sending Tuzla's defense on a trip." The Željezničar striker scored for 2-0. Until the end, the home team routinely brought the match to a close and secured important points.
