
(Patria) - Celebrated Bosnia and Herzegovina international Ermin Bičakčić (36) is the new footballer for Željezničar. The experienced defender signed a contract until the summer of 2026, with an option to extend the cooperation for another two seasons.
Bičakčić was born on January 21, 1990, in Zvornik. He began his football journey in the youth academies of SpVgg Mockmuhl and Heilbronn, and at just 15 years old, he moved to Stuttgart. For the German club, he played for the U-17 and U-19 teams, as well as the second and first teams.
After Stuttgart, he played for Eintracht Braunschweig for two seasons, and from the summer of 2014 to the summer of 2023, he was a member of Hoffenheim, where he established himself as one of the team's most prominent and reliable players. From the summer of 2023 to the summer of 2025, he once again played for Eintracht Braunschweig, recording 35 appearances last season.
During his rich career in Germany, he played over 300 matches, and his experience and leadership will undoubtedly be a great reinforcement for Željezničar, both on and off the field.
He played 43 matches for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team and was part of the squad that participated in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, reported FK Željezničar.
