European Grand Prix concluded, BiH taekwondo athletes won four bronzes

(Patria) - The last of the four competition days at this year's European Grand Prix, hosted by the capital of our country, concluded last night with a medal ceremony.

The prestigious competition ended with the announcement of the best individuals, and two Bosnian-Herzegovinian taekwondo athletes - Lucija Miličević and Adin Hodžić - once again climbed the winner's podium.

Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the -68 kg and -73 kg categories won bronze medals, thus joining Ejla Makaš and Zlatko Hrnjić, who had previously won medals of the same color.

MVP awards in the junior competition went to France's Fatima Mendy (-59kg) and Greece's Alexios Nikolaidis (-63kg).



In addition to Nikolaidis' gold in the up to 63 kilograms category, Greek representatives won another gold and three silvers yesterday, while taekwondo athletes from Serbia won two golds, one silver, and two bronzes on the fourth day.

Despite numerous challenges, the Taekwondo Federation of FBiH once again showed excellent technical organization.

- Although major European and world competitions were held before this Grand Prix, we are very satisfied with the way we organized this type of event for the first time.

With the praise we received from the leadership of the European Taekwondo Union, led by President Sakis Pragalos, I am convinced that we will raise the organization to an even higher level next year - said Samir Šarić, president of TKDS FBiH - who will also be the technical organizer of the Grand Prix for the next two years.

It is important to emphasize that this year, for the first time, monetary prizes were awarded to the best in the junior and cadet categories.
