Vučić concerned about UN Resolution: After adoption comes initiative to abolish Republika Srpska

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić addressed a press conference in Belgrade, announcing the problems Serbia will face in the coming period. He particularly emphasized the announced session of the UN General Assembly at the end of April, where the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica is scheduled to be discussed.

“I do not want to limit Serbia’s room for maneuver in the coming period. I received an official invitation from President Macron. I will beg him to consider everything we have discussed, as well as international legal norms. I will do my job and fight for Serbia,” Vučić said and added:

“This is only part of the problems we are facing. In the meantime, around April 27, according to the data we are receiving from the UN General Assembly, the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica is expected to be on the agenda, with partners, the groups that will propose it, being Germany and Rwanda, and several other countries as members.”

He reiterated that the goal of such a move is to “punish the Serbian people for their freedom-loving policy.”

“One of the comments when we recently mentioned the shelling of Serbia, an ambassador said: Why are you going back 27 years? They are taking us back 29 years now. I know many Bosniaks live in Srebrenica and I will not say a word about that terrible crime, I think all the worst of it. I went to Srebrenica to pay respects to the victims and laid flowers.

“This aims to punish the Serbian people for their freedom-loving policy, to put additional pressure on them because of Kosovo and Metohija, and to show the Muslims that because of the support they provided to Israel, they can now say they have found Muslims to support, and the Serbs will again bear the brunt,” Vučić said.

“This legal act does not have binding force, but it is clear to you that the day after, an initiative will be launched that political creations founded after the genocide cannot exist, referring to Republika Srpska. Serbia must monitor the respect of the Dayton Agreement, and according to Dayton, Republika Srpska must exist, and no one will change that. I want to say in what difficult situation Western countries can put our country.”

The collective West and most Islamic countries will be against Serbia, Vučić said.

“Serbia’s reaction on this issue will be that it requires… This could be on the agenda on April 24, it is a difficult situation for us. We will have the collective West against us, then a significant number of Islamic countries. As soon as they tell you it is not directed against that, I tell you they are lying. They are lying. There is nothing that makes you prouder and brings more dignity than leading a freedom-loving country like Serbia in a sovereign manner.

They are in a hurry because of the American elections, what is happening in Gaza, but especially because of what is happening in Ukraine. They are putting us in an impossible situation.”
