Vučić wants to reintroduce the death penalty in Serbia

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated yesterday that he advocates for the reintroduction of the death penalty.

Vučić said he would submit such a proposal to the Serbian Government once it is formed.

Commenting on the murder of two-year-old Danka Ilić, Vučić said he would propose to the Government to consider all issues and all recommendations of the Council of Europe regarding the reintroduction of the death penalty for the most serious criminal offenses.

- The justifications of those who are against the death penalty are serious. If you make a mistake once, and after 10 or 30 years it is established that you made a mistake, that is a much greater sin than giving someone a lesser sentence - Vučić stated.

He reminded that he had also proposed this after the mass murders at the "Vladislav Ribnikar" Elementary School and in the villages of Dubona and Malo Orašje.
