(Patria) - President Aleksandar Vučić, accompanied by Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, with whom he visited the Air Force and Anti-Aircraft Defense units of the Serbian Army in Batajnica, once again commented on the Srebrenica Resolution, which is expected to be considered by the UN General Assembly in April.
Vučić said that it was not a problem for him to pay respects to the victims of the Bosniak people, whom he loves and respects.
"I went to pay my respects, and you showed me gratitude by wanting to lynch me," Vučić said about his visit to Potočari.
Vučić stated that some are insisting on this resolution because of the legal and political consequences of the document, not out of recognition that a terrible crime occurred there and an expression of regret and humanity.
"It's not about humanity. It's about you insisting on it because of the legal and political consequences. It's not about recognizing that a terrible crime occurred, it's not about showing regret, humanity, or anything else, but about what should follow," Vučić told reporters.
He assessed that expressing sincere condolences is a terrible problem for the other side, because, as he said, they have never done so at the sites of atrocities against the Serbian people.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmedin Konaković, previously stated that Vučić, "if he means well for Serbia and Serbs in the region," should support the adoption of the UN resolution on Srebrenica, announced for April 27.
