Vučić: It is possible that Belgrade will have to accept something by force at some point

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced today that there will be changes "in doctrine and approaches" to the continuation of the dialogue with Pristina, which, as he said, mean that it will no longer be possible for Belgrade to be presented with a fait accompli.

Vučić stated that Belgrade remains open to dialogue, but will also conduct talks in a "different way".

“When someone deceives you once, it happens to good people because they trusted someone's word or signature. When they deceive you a second time, perhaps you trusted too much or wanted to believe. If it continues, it doesn't speak about the one who deceived you, but that you are a fool. We are no longer such fools,” Vučić told reporters in Belgrade after a reception organized for primary school students from Kosovo, Beta reported. He said it is possible that Belgrade will have to accept something by force at some point, but that it will then be clear that it was done without an agreement.

“You can implement everything by force, but you will have to say that you are implementing it by force,” Vučić said.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the "March Pogrom" against Serbs in Kosovo, he said that the persecution and violence against them continue "with the same intensity and ferocity" today.

“For a full 25 years, since they started taking Kosovo and Metohija from us by force, they have not stopped and will not stop. But it is more honorable to preserve freedom and protect international law. Serbia will continue to do so in the future,” said the Serbian president.
