(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated last night that Belgrade elections will be held no later than June 2.
- I made a mistake when I said new elections would be held no later than May 5 for Easter, however, that is not legally precise.
The latest date for calling elections is April 3, which is why it is possible they will be held on June 2 - Vučić said.
He stated that on April 3, these elections will be called by Ana Brnabić, as the elected President of the Assembly, to allow for the maximum 60-day period for them to be held.
Vučić claims there was no foreign pressure for the elections to be held, and that he held a meeting with "friends from the East", while Brnabić met with representatives of Quint countries.
He also touched upon the foreign policy situation Serbia finds itself in.
- Serbia is in a difficult geopolitical situation, as a country that is politically neutral and the only one in Europe not to have imposed sanctions on Russia. We are under great pressure - added Vučić.
