(Patria) - At the proposal of the Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton Enis Hasanović, the Government of Sarajevo Canton, at its 57th session held on 12.30.2024, made a decision to appoint two members, representatives of Sarajevo Canton, as co-founders to the Board of Directors of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. A decision on dismissal was made previously.
The KCUS Board of Directors included Dragan Stevanović and Anel Pindžo on behalf of Sarajevo Canton, while the new decision on appointment brings a change, with Majda Kalamujić appointed instead of Dragan Stevanović, and Pindžo remaining the other member.

KS Government Made Decision on December 30
"The final appointment of the representatives of Sarajevo Canton from point I of this decision falls under the jurisdiction of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, upon the proposal of the Federal Minister of Health. The Federal Ministry of Health is obliged to carry out the procedure for the final appointment of two (2) members, representatives of Sarajevo Canton from point I of this decision. The mandate of the members of the Board of Directors of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo lasts for four (4) years, counting from the date of appointment by the Government of the Federation of BiH," it is stated in the announcement in the Official Gazette of KS.
According to announcements in the Official Gazette of FBiH, it is most likely that the Federal Ministry of Health has not yet completed the procedure, and the Minister of Health, Nediljko Rimac, has been on sick leave for a long period.
It is also unknown how this decision of the KS Government will affect the further work of the Provisional Board of Directors of KCUS, which must complete the process of electing the director of KCUS, after the candidate Ismet Gavrankapetanović did not receive the consent of Minister Rimac. The saga with the election of the general director has been ongoing for over a year, and SDP wants the next proposed candidate to be Alen Pilav. Besides Pilav, Mevludin Mekić is also on the list, raising the question of whether the Provisional Board of Directors must propose the next person from the list or just propose the next candidate.
Although a session of the Provisional Board of Directors of KCUS was expected by the end of this week, there is still no information on when it will be held or what the decision regarding the candidate for the director of KCUS will be.
If the Provisional Board of Directors were to make a decision annulling the earlier proposal of Ismet Gavrankapetanović and then propose Alen Pilav to the Minister of Health, the issue of a court dispute would arise concerning Gavrankapetanović, to whom Minister Rimac did not give his consent.
