FBiH Government Entangled in Its Own Decisions: Will Sarajevo Airport Management Appointment Be Investigated?

(Patria) - The extent to which the FBiH Government has entangled itself in the case of appointing the management of Sarajevo International Airport is evident in today's issue of the Official Gazette of FBiH.

Thus, four decisions on the dismissal and appointment of management members were published.

On December 5, the Government made a decision giving prior consent to the Supervisory Board to dismiss the acting members of the management of JP International Airport Sarajevo, due to the expiry of their mandate, namely:

1. Sanin Ramezić, acting director of the Company

2. Amadeo Mandić, acting executive director for traffic

3. Slobodan Kadijević, acting executive director for airport development.

Then, it made a decision giving prior consent to the Supervisory Board to appoint these same management members.

However, as the Supreme Court of FBiH imposed measures prohibiting Ramezić and three members of the Supervisory Board from performing their duties on that day, the FBiH Government, at its 264th emergency session held on December 9, 2025, made a decision giving prior consent to JP "Međunarodni aerodrom Sarajevo" d.o.o. Sarajevo to dismiss the acting management members Sanin Ramezić, Amadeo Mandić, and Slobodan Kadijević, thereby repealing the earlier Decision of December 5, 2025, bypassing the Supervisory Board which is not functional.

It also made a decision to give prior consent to JP "Međunarodni aerodrom Sarajevo" d.o.o. Sarajevo to appoint acting management members of JP "Međunarodni aerodrom Sarajevo" d.o.o. Sarajevo, until the completion of the tender procedure, for a maximum period of three months, namely:

1. Amadeo Mandić, acting director;

2. Slobodan Kadijević, acting executive director for airport development.

A decision was also made authorizing Tomislav (Mile) Stapić to represent the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an attorney at the 97th session of the Assembly of J.P. Međunarodni aerodrom "Sarajevo" d.o.o. Sarajevo.

Nermin Nikšić, Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is authorized to sign the individual application and power of attorney with binding instructions on how to vote on individual points of the Agenda of the 97th session of the Assembly of J.P. Međunarodni aerodrom "Sarajevo" d.o.o. Sarajevo, scheduled for December 10, 2025.

A session of the Airport Assembly was held today where these management members were appointed. However, this appointment could also be under the scrutiny of investigative bodies. It is possible that Nikšić could now be included due to an appointment not prescribed by the Airport's Statute.

The POSKOK unit of the Federal Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation into the appointment of the management.
