Vincent Kompany new coach of Bayern

(Patria) - Vincent Kompany (38) is the new coach of Bayern, announced the Munich club, thus confirming the successor to Thomas Tuchel.

The legendary defender of Manchester City and the Belgian national team recently led Burnley in the concluded season and was relegated from the Premier League with them.

And now he has signed a three-year contract with the German giant.

- I look forward to the challenge. It is a great honor to work at this club, Bayern is a football institution. As a coach, you must stand for what you are character-wise: I like to have possession and be creative, but also to be aggressive and brave on the pitch.

I look forward to working with the players and building the team. When the foundations are good, success will come - said Kompany for Bayern's official website.

Let us recall, this was Bayern's first season in 12 years in which they did not win a trophy.

The Bundesliga and German Cup went to Bayer Leverkusen, while they were eliminated in the semi-finals of the Champions League by Real Madrid.

It had been agreed earlier that Tuchel would not remain on the bench, although they tried to persuade him after Xabi Alonso, who stayed at Bayer, Julian Nagelsmann as Germany's coach, and Ralf Rangnick as Austria's coach, refused to take over the Bavarian club.

Fabrizio Romano, the most famous football insider, announced last week that Bayern will pay Burnley 12 million euros for Kompany. For the Belgian expert, this will be the biggest challenge in his coaching career.

His first job was at his home club Anderlecht in 2020, with whom he finished third and fourth in the league over two seasons and played in the cup final.

Then in the summer of 2020, he took over Burnley. In his first season with the club, he won the Championship and secured promotion to the Premier League, but this season he was relegated from the English top flight with only five wins from 37 matches.
