Verstappen celebrated in Imola, Norris and Leclerc on the podium

(Patria) - Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won today's Formula 1 race for the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna.

Verstappen managed to fend off attacks from Lando Norris of McLaren in the very finish and achieved his 59th career victory.

Charles Leclerc of Ferrari took third place.

McLaren driver Oscar Piastri finished fourth, Carlos Sainz of Ferrari was fifth, and Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who earned an extra point for the fastest lap of the race, took sixth and seventh place.

Red Bull driver Sergio Pérez finished eighth, Lance Stroll of Aston Martin was ninth, and Yuki Tsunoda of the RB team took 10th place.

The next race in the championship will be held on May 26 for the Grand Prix of Monaco.
