(Patria) - The second match of today's program of the 28th round of the WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina is being played in Mostar between hosts Velež and Sloga Meridian. In the end, the hosts achieved a minimal victory with a score of 1:0.
Guliashvili gave the hosts the lead from a set piece.
The guests from Doboj are in a slight crisis of results, having suffered three consecutive losses in their previous three matches. The hosts played an excellent game in the last round and celebrated a 3:1 victory.
The teams entered this match of the 28th round from third and sixth positions respectively, and new points were necessary to continue the fight for places leading to European competitions.
The last mutual encounter between Velež and Sloga, played in Modriča, ended with the unpopular score of 0:0.
The first fifteen minutes of the match at Arena Rođeni passed without any major excitement or clear chances for either side.
The first yellow card of the match was shown in the 22nd minute when Popara was noted in the notebook of the main referee, Haris Halkić.
A forced substitution for the hosts occurred in the 23rd minute, with Edo Vehabović replacing the injured Oreč.
The hosts took the lead in the 29th minute. Guliashvili shot from a free kick from about 25 meters from Nemanja Ščekić's goal, and the ball hit one of the players in the wall before reaching the goal, thus deceiving the visiting goalkeeper.
The official announcer announced in the 34th minute that the new coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, Sergej Barbarez, as well as Emir Spahić, were present at the Rođeni stadium, which was met with huge applause from all the fans present.
The guests had their first serious chance in the 37th minute. Grabež shot well with his head, but the hosts' goalkeeper Hadžikić intervened brilliantly.
Until the end of the first half, the hosts ceded initiative to the guests, but there was no change in the score.
Mrkaić's goal was disallowed in the second half.
The second half began with a substitution by Vlado Jagodić, who left Mrzić in the locker room and brought Mladen Veselinović onto the field. Veselinović himself made an excellent cross in the 55th minute, and Mrkaić reacted well to score the equalizer. However, the high flag of the assistant referee Haris Halkić indicated an offside position for the goal scorer, so the score remained 1:0.
The hosts had their first chance in the second half in the 61st minute, but the visiting goalkeeper reacted well and kept his net safe.
Heavy rain that began to fall in Mostar further complicated the game for the players of both teams, who were unable to create any chances to threaten the goalkeepers.
In the 78th minute, a long-range attempt by the guests, but the shot went wide of Hadžikić's goal, who was one step away from another clean sheet.
Velež players threatened after a corner, but luck was on the guests' side, and the score remained unchanged, writes scsport.ba.
Three minutes of added time did not bring a change in the score, so Velež celebrated a minimal victory.
The new three points gave Velež a seven-point lead over fourth-placed Sarajevo, who play a derby against Zrinjski tomorrow, while Sloga remained in sixth place with 38 points after the loss.
The next round will see Velež travel to Košev, while Sloga will try to break their losing streak at home in a duel with Zvijezda 09.
