Velež left without president: Senad Kevelj resigns

(Patria) - Football Club Velež Mostar informs all its members, fans and friends of the Club that, after last night's match in which Rođeni failed to secure a victory, the president of FK Velež, Senad Kevelj, submitted his resignation from this position.

“Dear Rođeni, my dear friends and colleagues,

after almost two years, unfortunately, the time has come for parting. In two years, I can freely say, we have done a lot of work, although there is always room for more and better, but I must emphasize that as president of FK Velež and as a man, I am proud of the results we achieved. In our first season, we played in the final of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup, and in the season behind us, by winning third place in the WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we managed to secure another appearance for our Rođeni on the European football stage.

In the past period, my associates from the Management Board and I, as well as numerous friends of our Club who recognized our work and sincere desire, have truly invested a lot of energy into the project of a modern Velež, and the mentioned results, along with the infrastructure, the new stand and the auxiliary field, are witnesses to our dedication. People who are continuously involved in sports, especially football, know how demanding and difficult this job is, but also a job that fills a person with pride, especially when you have the opportunity to work for the benefit of a club that you sincerely and wholeheartedly feel with your entire being.

I am happy that we can say the Club has advanced in many segments. Besides the green field, progress has also been made in the organizational segment of the Club's functioning, but sport is such that in the end, only results are measured. Unfortunately, the results at the start of this season are not in line with our ambitions and expectations, and therefore, as the first man of the Club, without delving into who is most responsible for the current results, I felt a moral responsibility and made the decision to submit my resignation from the position of president of FK Velež.

I am certain that the current state of our Club is only the result of a temporary results crisis, a process of ups and downs that are normal in sports, as well as in life, and that our Velež will soon return to the winning track. I wish my successor much luck, and as always, I will be at Velež's disposal in my capacities," Kevelj's letter states.
