A race to remember in Cortina, Elvedina Muzaferija writes history for BiH skiing

(Patria) - At the Winter Olympic Games, the world's best skiers competed today in a super-G race that will be remembered. Namely, the Norwegian coach set a very demanding course, which cost many skiers their finish.

A course that resembled giant slalom more than a speed discipline created huge problems. Of the first eight skiers, as many as four did not finish, mostly missing gates due to high speed.

The best BiH skier, Elvedina Muzaferija, also competed in today's race.

Elvedina had bib number 27, and crossed the finish line in 1:25.85, which was enough for 16th place and the best result in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Winter Olympic Games.

After a lot of fighting, retirements, and drama, the fastest was the legendary Italian Federica Brignone with a time of 1:23.41, thus taking the Olympic gold.

Brignone returned to the slopes last month after a serious injury and now took Olympic gold, another incredible story.

Romane Miradoli from France came in second place and took the silver medal with a time of 1:23.82, causing a small surprise.

The bronze medal, after all the confusion, went to the experienced Cornelia Huetter from Austria with a time of 1:23.93.

There is no doubt that the skiers will remember this Olympic super-G in Cortina for a long time.

Some of the medal favorites such as Aicher, Ledecka, Goggia, Puchner, Johnson... also retired, and out of the top 25 girls who are best in this discipline, as many as 12 did not finish.
