(Patria) - The match of the 26th round of the Wwin League of BiH between Široki Brijeg and Željezničar was interrupted in the middle of the second half.
The reason is a banner of Željezničar fans displaying a photograph taken during the reintegration of Grbavica in 1996, which bothered the match delegate Renato Buhić.
The main referee Haris Halkić from Cazin interrupted the match, and the announcer warned several times that the match would be stopped if the banner was not removed.
The match continued even though Željezničar fans did not remove their banner, but they did remove all other banners.
Shortly after, the delegate made another call for the banner to be removed, which again did not happen, after which special forces entered the stands and began beating Željezničar fans.
Shortly thereafter, under police pressure, the fans had to leave the stands.
And while matches are not interrupted due to banners and chants for convicted war criminals, the truth about Sarajevo and the siege clearly bothers many to the extent that the police are ready to beat people for that truth.
