Management Board of KK Bosna BH Telecom Resigns

(Patria) - The Management Board of the Basketball Club Bosna BH Telecom, led by President Dubravko Barbarić, resigned today.

"Following a meeting of the KK Bosna leadership with top officials of the Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, and municipal mayors, held on Thursday, June 11, at the premises of the Sarajevo Canton Government, an emergency session of the club's Management Board was held today, at which the Board members, led by President Dubravko Barbarić, submitted their resignations.

It was concluded that the club's leadership no longer has political support at the level of Sarajevo municipalities, the City of Sarajevo, the Sarajevo Canton, and the Federation of BiH regarding further strategic decisions of KK Bosna.

At the meeting, the club did not receive guarantees for the upcoming season that, from a security standpoint and according to the established event calendar, matches can be played in Skenderija, nor that the planned roof repair and interior renovation will be completed by the start of the upcoming season. Additionally, regarding the club leadership's open questions about the reasons for the reduction of financial support from the City of Sarajevo this year and the complete cessation of financial support from the Centar Sarajevo Municipality - no reasonable explanations were received from the mayor or the municipal head.

The Management Board believes that the club, at this stage before the start of the new season, needs absolute support from all levels of government and proposes that the club's largest donors and sponsors from the past season: the Sarajevo Canton Government, BH Telecom, and the Government of the Federation of BiH urgently propose a new composition of the Management Board, with the request of the current Management Board that it not include members who were in the club's leadership in previous terms.

The former President of the Management Board and one of the club's largest sponsors, Dubravko Barbarić, will completely withdraw from the club's operations.

The club continues to carry out its regular activities without hindrance and is financially completely stable," stated KK Bosna BH Telecom.
