UEFA decides: 2027 Champions League final will not be played at San Siro

(Patria) - The 2027 Champions League final will not be played at Milan's San Siro as originally planned, UEFA officially announced.

After a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Prague, the leaders of the European football governing body made this decision because the city of Milan could not provide a guarantee that the renovation of the stadium and its surroundings would be completed by then.

At the same time, UEFA announced that it would reopen the bidding process to find a suitable host and location for the final match.

A decision on the host is likely to follow in May or June next year.

The final of the current Champions League season will be played at Munich's Allianz Arena on 31 May next year, while Budapest will host the Champions League final a season later.
