European Judo Kata Championship Concluded in Sarajevo

(Patria) - The European Judo Kata Championship was held yesterday and today in Sarajevo, organized by the Judo Federation of BiH, and the most successful competitors were from France.

More than 300 judokas competed in the Hills Arena on Ilidža, representing 20 countries, which is a record number of participants, competing for continental titles in nine categories.

The Nage-no-kata competition was the only one held in three categories.

In the cadet category, gold was won by Dava Figlie - Ambre Ledez (France), silver by Csilla Nagy - Cezara Dudas (Romania), and bronze by Filippo Marzaloni - Nicola Bellosi (Italy).

The European junior champions are Elisa Plattfaut - Jamier Den Ridder (Germany), the vice-champions are Aymeric Debois - Josselin Esteves (France), and Luis Marques - Maxime Guy (France) won bronze.

Gold in the senior category was won by Immo Schmidt - Hendrik Schmidt (Germany), silver by Mauro Collini - Tommaso Rondinini (Italy), and Unai Saralegui Vallejo - Unai Reguillaga Eizaguirre (Spain) had to settle for bronze.

The European Katame-no-kata junior champions are Kora Kojc - Tito Karanjac (Slovenia), the vice-champions are Samuele Pardini - Michael Camarri (Italy), and Nienke Albert - Willemijin Albert (Netherlands) were third on the podium.

Gold in this category for seniors went to the pair Nicolas Gilon - Jaen Philippe Gilon (Belgium), silver to Tycho Van der Werff - David Lefevere (Netherlands), and bronze to Miriam Sikora - Christian Steinert (Germany).



The European junior Ju-no-kata champions are the pair Siria Quartieri - Anna Demola (Italy), the vice-champions are Rosa Maria Trillo Lillo - Nora Barrera Perez (Spain), and third place went to Antoni Ptak - Stanislaw Ptak (Poland).

In the senior category, gold was won by Wolfgang Dax Romswinkel - Ursula Loosen (Germany), silver by Giovanni Tarabelli - Angelica Tarabelli (Italy), and bronze by Alina Zaharia - Simona Alina Cheru (Romania).

Kime-no-kata is another category in which we have a European champion, which is the pair Gregory Marques - Stephane Bega (France), the vice-champions are Gregory Rieffel - Philippe Leger (France), and bronze goes to the pair Enrico Tommasi - Yuri Ferretti (Italy).

Gold in the final category, Goshin Jutsu, went to the pair Claude Jaume - Brice Benard (France), silver to Antoni Obrador Mas - Pedro Marcos Rodriguez (Spain), and bronze to Juana Puigserver Sanso - Llorenc Gaya Puigserver (Spain).

The most successful nation at the European Judo Kata Championship is France with three gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal.

Germany also won three gold medals, but with one bronze. The third most successful team was Italy with one gold medal, three silver medals, and two bronze medals.

As a reminder, the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was the successful organizer of the four-day European Judo Championship for veterans last week, and starting tomorrow, the Kodokan Kata seminar will begin, which will also be organized in the capital of BiH.

The seminar will last until Friday.
