F1 championship car arrives in Sarajevo, legendary Coulthard to drive it on June 9

(Patria) - Sarajevo will host the spectacular Red Bull Showrun event on June 9, and the Formula 1 car, to be driven by the legendary British driver David Coulthard, will undoubtedly attract the most attention.

This is the RB7 car of the Red Bull Racing team, which has arrived in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After a long journey from Poland, where it completed another mission, the legendary RB7 has arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically in Sarajevo, transported in a special and recognizable truck along with accompanying equipment.

Given that one of the most dominant cars in Formula 1 history will be in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina for several days and will unleash its power and thunderous sound on the Sarajevo asphalt on Sunday, June 9, servicing and preparation will be necessary for Coulthard to perform his show, eagerly awaited by numerous Formula 1 fans in our country, as well as all lovers of adrenaline and good fun.

Therefore, the RB7 has everything it needs in its mobile home to prepare and deliver an unforgettable show.



Incidentally, this is the car that the Red Bull Racing team used in 2011, and it was presented at the "Ricardo Tormo" circuit near Valencia.

This car succeeded the extremely successful RB6, which won the double crown in 2010, but it also brought improvements that overcame numerous technical challenges.

The result of teamwork at Red Bull Racing was the powerful RB7, one of the most dominant cars in Formula 1 history.

This car also brought the Milton Keynes team the drivers' and constructors' titles, marking the second double crown for this team.

In the 2011 season, the RB7 achieved 12 victories, including three one-two finishes (1st and 2nd place), 27 podiums, 18 out of a possible 19 pole positions, and accumulated a total of 650 points.

The driver lineup consisted of German Sebastian Vettel and Australian Mark Webber.

It was Vettel who won his second of four Formula 1 world championship titles in this car.

In that season, Vettel achieved 11 victories and 15 pole positions, while Webber had one victory and three pole positions. Given his habit of naming his cars, the popular Seb named his carbon chassis RB7 "Kinky Kylie".

The RB7 car was designed by the renowned designer Adrian Newey and is powered by a Renault 2.4-liter V8 engine (8 cylinders, 32 valves) weighing 95 kilograms, paired with a longitudinally mounted seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox with a hydraulic system (7+R) and equipped with KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System).

This engine revs at 18,000 rpm and delivers 750 hp. In races, it used Total Group fuel and oil, as well as 13-inch OZ wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires.

The RB7 became the first car with KERS to win the constructors' title. The entire car, including the driver, weighs 640 kg.



What was also specific to this car was the DRS system, or drag reduction system, which is part of the rear wing.

It was introduced precisely in 2011 with the aim of improving overtaking and functions simply. When a driver following another within one second on a specific part of the track, it allows them to activate the adjustable rear wing.

The flap on that rear wing opens, significantly reducing drag and giving the driver an opportunity to attack a rival and potentially overtake them. This system was a simple and effective addition to the car, which was actually so dominant that it rarely needed DRS.

The legendary Coulthard has driven the RB7 multiple times at various locations during the Red Bull Showrun, an event that will take place on June 9 in Sarajevo.

The championship car will race on a route from Marijin Dvor to Mašinska škola and back past the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the event in Marseille is an example of what awaits the numerous audience in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the cockpit of the championship car will once again be the legendary Coulthard.

A large number of spectators are expected in Sarajevo on the day of the Red Bull Showrun, who will also be able to enjoy the performance of motorcycle virtuoso Arunas Gibieža and drift masters Red Bull Driftbrothers, as well as other attractions during the all-day event.
