Gendarmerie joins search for body of Danka Ilić

The Ministry of Interior of Serbia announced that 50 members of the Gendarmerie have joined the search for the body of two-year-old Danka on the stretch from the village of Zlot towards the place Sumrakovac, and the search operation is being led by the head of the Police Administration Bor, Zoran Milijić.

The police stated that members of the Crime Suppression Service of the Criminal Police Directorate, together with colleagues from Bor and members of the Police Administration Bor, are working intensively to find the body of the two-year-old girl and to establish all facts and circumstances related to this case.

Since the report of her disappearance on March 26, several hundred members of the MUP have participated in the search for the missing girl, working intensively on a detailed search of the wider and narrower area in this part of the Bor District, the MUP statement said.

Two-year-old Danka went missing on March 26 in Banjsko Polje near Bor, and after 10 days of searching and detailed checks of all traces and information, the police arrested J.S. and D.D. from Bor on suspicion of hitting the girl with a car, then placing her body in the car trunk and taking it to a landfill. They are charged with the criminal offense of aggravated murder as co-perpetrators.

D.D. confessed to the crime during the hearing, while J.S. remained silent, and after the hearing, they were ordered into custody for up to 30 days.

Subsequently, D.D. and R.D., the father and brother of the suspect D.D., were arrested on suspicion of helping him move the girl's body to a currently unknown location.

The suspect's brother died at the Police Administration in Bor, while the suspect's father was ordered into custody for up to 30 days, Srna reports.

In the meantime, the director of the public company "Vodovod" in Bor resigned, citing moral reasons, after two employees were arrested on suspicion of participating in the murder of the girl.
