(Patria) - Before 80,000 spectators at Wembley in London, 27-year-old Briton Daniel Dubois knocked out his seven-year-older compatriot Anthony Joshua in the fifth round, thus defending the IBF world champion title.
He won the interim title by defeating Filip Hrgović, after which it was promoted to a full title.
Joshua now has a record of 28 wins and four losses, while Dubois has 22 wins and two losses.
Joshua had previously won the world heavyweight title twice, but this time he failed to do so for a third time and thus write his name in the history books of professional boxing, agencies report.
Dubois dominated the fight from the very beginning and sent Joshua to the canvas as early as the first round. From then on, Joshua mostly tried to survive the attacks of the younger fighter; in the fourth round, the referee counted him again, and in the fifth, Dubois finally knocked him out with a brilliant counter.
