(Patria) - By order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), members of the Special Police Department SPO this morning brought in former chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnić and former police official Zoran Lazović, CdM has been told from multiple sources.
The SDT suspects them of creating a criminal organization and abuse of official position.
“Based on mutual cooperation and months of coordinated action by the Special State Prosecutor's Office, the Special Police Department and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation – EUROPOL, by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, the Special Police Department, with the assistance of the Special Purposes Police Sector, deprived of liberty M.K., former chief special prosecutor, and Z.L., former assistant director of the Police Administration, on grounds of suspicion that they committed the criminal offenses of creating a criminal organization and abuse of official position,” state prosecutor and SDT spokesperson Vukas Radonjić told CdM.
According to his words, the suspects will be brought before the special prosecutor for questioning within the legal deadline.
“Searches of their apartments and other premises are underway in Podgorica, Cetinje, Budva and Bijelo Polje, to find traces of the criminal offense and items that may be useful for the proceedings,” Radonjić said.
Zoran Lazović's lawyer, Zoran Piperović, briefly told RTCG Portal that he expects the Special Police Department (SPO) to begin searching Lazović's house in Podgorica.
Incidentally, Katnić was supposed to be a guest on a TV show on Monday where he was to speak about Sky communications, crime, and the arrests of his former associates.
