Fuel Prices to Increase in BiH

(Patria) - Due to the rise in crude oil barrel prices on world exchanges, higher fuel prices are expected at pumps in BiH in the coming days, by five feninga per liter.

Energy expert Almir Bečarević says that fuel price increases are expected next week because oil prices have risen on world exchanges.

- We expect prices to be five feninga per liter higher for all types of petroleum products - says Bečarević.

He points out that it is very difficult to predict what will happen in the coming period, as prices are constantly changing on world markets.

The Vice-President of the Group for Trade of Oil and Petroleum Products of the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska and director of "Krajinapetrol" Milovan Bajić stated for Nezavisne novine that price increases at pumps in Republika Srpska are expected in the coming days.

- Input prices of fuel are rising, so higher prices await us next week - announces Bajić.

Executive Director of the Association of Citizens DON from Prijedor, Murisa Marić, said earlier that the citizens of BiH have completely become accustomed to price increases, including fuel.

- No one can definitively influence the increase in fuel prices, and when the barrel price rises globally - it also increases here, but realistically, there must be a certain period for it to reflect on our market - states Marić.

She adds that the increase in fuel prices at pumps in BiH will be a huge blow to consumers because cars, as she says, are a necessity.

- This really leads nowhere anymore… I don't even know how we can define the consumer basket anymore, a basket that has exceeded 3,000 KM, and we know that if fuel prices rise, other groceries will also become more expensive - stated Marić and added that this will be a problem for citizens.

Let us remind you, the price of oil on the world market is below 73 dollars, as traders await the US Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates, holding back due to signs of weakening demand in China.

On the London market, the barrel price was almost unchanged at $72.84. On the American market, crude oil was traded at a price 23 cents higher, at $70.32.
