Concert by young BiH artists 'Echos aus Vareš' held in Vienna

(Patria) - The BiH Embassy in Vienna, in cooperation with artist of BiH origin Andrea Nikolić, organized the second concert last night, this time titled "Echos aus Vareš".

It was an opportunity for reflections on this year's 12th Vareš Classic Festival and the promotion of young artists from BiH, Serbia, and Croatia, for whom scholarships were secured through voluntary contributions at the first concert held earlier this year in Vienna.

- With this, we have completed a whole that had its beginning, development, and successful end, with the main goals of supporting our young artists on one hand, and promoting the art and music of our regions in a way that Europe can understand - said Siniša Bencun, BiH Ambassador to Austria, who welcomed all attendees in Vienna's Alte Rathaus hall with a fitting speech.

In addition to the former Austrian Ambassador to Sarajevo, Ulrike Hartman, as the guest of honor at the concert, over a hundred guests from the diplomatic and academic communities, Austrian institutions, and people of origin from our regions had the opportunity to hear famous works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Max Bruch, performed by young scholarship holders Marko Marić, Borna Šestak, and Lejla Komar, who study in Istočno Sarajevo, Mostar, Kragujevac, and Belgrade, accompanied by the Vienna CIPRA Quartet.

The audience was particularly impressed by the compositions prepared for this occasion by composer Belma Bešlić Gal, and the guest of the evening Goran Stevanović from Bijeljina, an accordion artist and lecturer at the University of Hannover, whose work is currently focused on the history of sevdah and its integration into modern concert forms of today.

The BiH Embassy will continue to support the development of young artists and the promotion of the culture of all peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future, and plans are currently being made for the upcoming year for art exhibitions and choral performances by our artists in Austrian cities.
