Sports commentator and journalist Edin Avdić passes away

(Patria) - Renowned Bosnian-Herzegovinian sports commentator and journalist Edin Avdić has passed away at the age of 47.

Edin Avdić was born on June 19, 1979, in Sarajevo.

He was one of the most prominent sports journalists, commentators, and columnists in the Balkans, and was best known for his basketball game broadcasts and in-depth knowledge of the NBA and European basketball.

He graduated in journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences (FPN) in Sarajevo, and before his journalism career, he actively played basketball in the youth selections of the Basketball Club (KK) Bosna.

He began his career at Federal Television, then worked at OBN, where he gained great popularity as an NBA league commentator, and later became one of the flagship faces of Arena Sport television.

He was known for his energetic commentary style, expert analyses, and columns on basketball, which were among the most read in the region for years.

Recently, together with colleague Miloš Jovanović, he hosted the popular podcast "Udvajanje", as well as his own authorial show "X&O’s Chat" on Television Una.

Thanks to his knowledge, charisma, and authentic approach, Avdić is considered one of the most recognizable and respected sports commentators in the former Yugoslavia.

In the video below, let us recall how it sounded when Avdić commented on the performances of the basketball Dragons, and especially memorable will remain his striking "Teletović from the parking lot" and "Teletović from the locker room".
