SAD END Lindsey Vonn had a bad fall at the Olympic Games in Cortina

(Patria) - The women's downhill in Cortina d'Ampezzo and the main story was Lindsey Vonn, who, despite a torn anterior cruciate ligament, decided to ski at the Winter Olympic Games.

Unfortunately, the American had a bad fall after the first few turns and had to receive assistance on the track.

The race started at 11:30 AM, and it is a discipline in which speeds reach up to 150 kilometers per hour. Vonn started 13th on the demanding course, full of bumps and rises, but her performance did not last long.

Let's recall that Lindsey Vonn had a serious fall in Kran-Montana just a few days earlier, after which it was confirmed that she had injured her knee. Because of this, many expected her to withdraw from the Olympic Games, but the experienced American decided to start anyway.

– I am competing in my fifth Olympic Games at the age of 41, regardless of whether anyone thinks it is safe or not – Vonn said, once again confirming why she is considered one of the best skiers of all time.

She was airlifted from the track.
