(Patria) - The purchase of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) building in Banja Luka remains in the public and official spotlight. Today, an SDS MP in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly proposed including a new item on the agenda: “Declaration on the prohibition of purchasing a building for the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH”.
This item was not included because, out of 36 present, 18 voted against, 17 for, and one abstained. It is extremely interesting how the vote went. The SDP caucus voted against this initiative, a part of the NIP caucus abstained, while Denis Zvizdić supported the proposal. Our Party was also divided, with some MPs voting against and some abstaining.
Otherwise, Bosić stated that the reason for his initiative was the recent decision of the BiH Council of Ministers, which increased the investment for the purchase of the mentioned building to almost 100 million KM.
“That is, 97.5 million KM, exactly what Grand Trade, owned by Mile Radišić, is asking for, which is what he has been asking for from the beginning. This whole story is not about buying a building for the UIO; this is a story about high-level corruption, a story where everyone sees that the tender is being rigged for one person. And everyone sees that the top leadership in BiH is involved in it. This case is followed by numerous scandals that have been filling the media space in BiH for 12 years,” said the SDS MP.
He stated that a building should certainly be purchased for the needs of the UIO BiH.
“It should have been done back in 2007 when the first tender for the purchase of land for the construction of this building was announced. It was never realized precisely because a plan was made on 'how to extract 100 million KM from the BiH budget into private pockets'. And it was not possible to realize it until now because those who made the plan were not satisfied with the amounts allocated for that building so far. And here is the confirmation at the end, the budget for 2024 provides funds for that purpose in exactly the amount requested by the owner of the mentioned building,” Bosić stated.
Bosić added that it is clear to everyone what this is about and that it is clear to everyone that it is about trading influence.
“The whole story has been turned into political topics; it is evident that at meetings of the highest leaders of the authorities in BiH, the amount for the purchase of the building for the UIO BiH is being negotiated. If this plan passes, and we all know what this is about, we will all participate in it. There is no longer hope for a normal society to return where the fight against corruption and crime functions. Tycoons in BiH are getting stronger, richer, politicians are becoming more unscrupulous in their corrupt intentions to extract money from all budgets. And this will simply kill any hope for change in the future of this society, and the consequences are catastrophic,” he stated.
The SDS MP said that the consequences of corruption in BiH are such that everything that was good has either left or is thinking of leaving.
“The idea of a normal and just society has been killed here; here, tycoons make decisions on how the government will behave; here, the composition of politicians representing not only legislative but also executive bodies is increasingly weak. Our children are taught by professors with bought diplomas, and all this is a consequence of corruption. If it becomes normal, with the purchase of this building, in front of the entire public, I believe it will be the final nail in the coffin of what is called 'the fight against corruption and crime in BiH'.
Therefore, I propose that this House muster the strength to oppose this decision and ask the Council of Ministers to stop this process. To reconsider the actual needs of the UIO and the actual ways to complete this project. To build a building for their own needs themselves, not to do it in this way based on a plan made in 2012,” he concluded.
