Thirteen medals for BiH boxers at the Balkan Championship

(Patria) - Another Balkan Championship in Olympic boxing has concluded, held from November 18-24, 2024, in Loznica, Serbia.

13 countries participated: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and by decision of the European Boxing Confederation (EUBC), Ukraine also competed in this prestigious event.

A total of 190 boxers fought for medals.

In an exceptionally strong and high-quality competition, the boxing team of Bosnia and Herzegovina had a great performance, and ultimately, the BiH representatives won 13 medals for our country.

The BiH team competed in both men's and women's categories with the following lineup: Šejla Biberović - gold medal, silver medals were won by: Faris Alihodžić, Aleksandar Veljović, and Asaf Pozder, bronze medals were won by: Luka Veljović, Asja Turković, Tarik Hurić, Imran Imširović, Benjamin Zlatanović, Petar Sredojević, Pavle Vukeljić, Nedim Malkoč, Mihajlo Đekić.

Adis Ajanović, Emir Šerifović, and Danijel Petrović, despite putting up excellent fights against their opponents, unfortunately did not manage to advance to win a medal.

With great fights and performances from a new BiH boxing team, it has been shown that a generational change has occurred in BiH boxing and that a bright future for BiH boxing is coming, stated the Boxing Federation of BiH.
