(Patria) - Kruševo footballers caused a major surprise in the round of 32 of the BiH Cup after eliminating Banja Luka's Borac through better penalty shootout execution in the early stage of the competition.
The match was played on the auxiliary field of HŠK Zrinjski stadium in Mostar, and after the first 45 minutes, Borac had everything in their hands.
The team from Banja Luka went into halftime with a 2-0 lead, but Kruševo, a member of the second federal league (third tier of competition in BiH), came back in the second half with goals in the 48th and 55th minutes.
After 90 minutes of play, the score was 2-2, so the winner was decided by penalty kicks.
Borac players failed to score any of their four attempts, so two goals from three attempts were enough for Kruševo to achieve a great victory.
There were no surprises in the other matches played today. Zrinjski defeated Romanija 2-0 away, while Famos was better than Jedinstvo from Bihać 1-0 at home.
Sloga inflicted a heavy defeat on the home team of the same name in Grude with a score of 7-0, Stupčanica defeated Leotar 2-0, Tekstilac outplayed Napredak 4-1, and Slavija from Istočno Sarajevo eliminated Slatina through better penalty shootout execution after the score was 1-1 in 90 minutes of play.
Two more matches are scheduled for today: Čelik and Posušje will play in Zenica starting at 6:00 PM, and Sloboda and Željezničar will play in Tuzla starting at 8:15 PM.
