(Patria) - The football world was shaken by news from Spain – Portuguese international and Liverpool player, Diogo Jota, died in a traffic accident in the province of Zamora.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the accident occurred at the 65th kilometer of the A-52 highway near the town of Palacios de Sanabria, when the vehicle carrying Jota and his brother André veered off the road and caught fire. Unfortunately, both lost their lives.
Diogo Jota was 28 years old. Since 2020, he played for Liverpool, for whom he played over 120 matches and won numerous trophies, including the Premier League. He represented the Portuguese national team 49 times, scoring 14 goals.
His football career took him through Pacos de Ferreira, Atletico Madrid, Porto, and Wolverhampton, and his hard work and fighting spirit made him one of the favorite players on the field.
