(Patria) - In the match of the 11th round of the WWin League of BiH, Borac defeated Velež from Mostar at home with a minimal score of 1:0, with a goal at the very end of the match.
The team from Mostar put on a good performance and had their chances, but failed to reward their effort, while the home team took advantage of their only real opportunity in the second half.
The first 45 minutes saw the initiative from the visitors, who managed to score a goal, but it was disallowed. Haskić headed the ball into the net after a corner, but the main referee Dragan Topuzović assessed that a foul had been committed beforehand, even though it was a collision between two home players. Although the spectators remained in doubt, the VAR room, led by Sabrija Topalović, confirmed the decision, thus disallowing a legitimate goal for Velež that could have significantly changed the course of the match.
In the second half, Borac took the initiative. Ogrinec had the best chance, shooting from close range, but goalkeeper Karić made a save. In that situation too, the referees failed to call an obvious offside. The final score was set in the 87th minute when Kvržić delivered an excellent cross from the right, and Juričić headed the ball into the net for the great celebration of the home fans.
With this victory, Borac strengthened its lead at the top of the table and faces a difficult away match against Zrinjski in Mostar in the next round. Velež, on the other hand, remains with bitterness due to the defeat orchestrated by the referees, but will try to get points in the next round in front of their fans against Široki Brijeg.
