Tough loss for Bosna in Italy, Reggiana wins by 26 points

(Patria) - Sarajevo's Bosna suffered a heavy defeat tonight away in Italy in the 3rd round of the second stage of the FIBA Europe Cup.

The team Pallacanestro Reggiana lived up to its role as a big favorite and easily won at home with a score of 93:67. The quarter scores were: 21:14, 20:18, 30:12, 22:23.

This was a duel between two teams that entered tonight's match with a perfect record in Group L - both Reggiana and Bosna had two wins each.

The students started the match poorly, but towards the end of the first quarter, they showed on several occasions that they could match the Italians.

Reggiana won the first quarter with a score of 21:14. However, Bosna started finding better solutions in the continuation.



The students played better afterwards and came within -2 points on several occasions. However, halftime ended with a score of 41:32.

But, everything that looked promising in the first half fell apart in the third quarter. Bosna seemed not to have entered the court of the "Palasport Giulio Bigi" arena.

Reggiana scored almost everything they could, especially through the inspired Thor and Caupain, while the students couldn't even connect basic plays.



Bosna's missed shots piled up, their transition play broke down, and lost balls took away the last glimmers of hope.

The difference grew from minute to minute, and it was clear that one of the toughest defeats of the season was looming for the Sarajevo team.

The last quarter saw another attempt to at least mitigate Reggiana's convincing lead, but even that did not bring improvement.



The home team eventually celebrated with a high 26-point difference.

For the home team, Thor was the most effective with 21 points, while Caupain scored 14. For Bosna, Plummer stood out with 20 points and Young with 13.

The students will have to show a completely different face in the upcoming matches if they want to reach the quarterfinals of the FIBA Europe Cup.
